Cousin Silas: The Place It Used To Be
I encountered Cousin Silas on the Just Not Normal netlabel back in 2009. In an interview with Thomas Mathie about starting We Are All Ghosts, he mentions Cousin Silas as one of the artists that inspired him to start the label. So why wait until Cousin Silas revisits the place it used to be to write a review?
Algo: Acouasm
Algorhythms is a label I just discovered, thanks to Facebook (I think). I’m glad that I did find it. Algo’s Acousam immediately struck me as a perfect counter point to the François Couture release I reviewed last week.
Maxi Roots: See No Light
I thought it best to give Maxi Roots – See No Light a bit of light the day before it’s release rather than two days after. It also seems fitting to end the week the way I started it: with a dub release.
ce François Couture: Derrière
I am convinced that Keith from Pan Y Rosas Discos thinks I am a glutton for experimental and unusual recordings. Well, he’s right, but how did he know? 🙂 When I saw this submission I tried to maintain a healthy skepticism, then I read the description and was intrigued.
Brk: Conversion EP
Brk’s dub conversions make an excellent addition to the Sonux (now Otium) catalog.
